Hey howdy Jim.

I got to thinking about this crazy event (Yet Again) then I got to thinking about this song called Eve of Destruction. It was pretty popular in S.F a few years back like in 1965

http://www.faraway-soclose.org/eod.html

So I para phrazed it a bit in my little way. My apologies to P.F Sloan and Barry McGuire

EVE OF CONSTRUCTION..... Team KISS

The Eastern Bay
It is a building
Guys designing
Women welding
Your smart enough to build
But not for gloating
You dont believe in bolts
But whats that tap your toting
And even the Sacramento river has skill saws floating

But you tell me over and over an over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the Eve of Construction

No one understands what your building today
Your constanty told No it won't work that way.
If the button is pushed on a bright sunny day
We'll all run away
Tighten bolts on your toy
Then make fast your toy

And you tell me over and over an over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the Eve of Construction

Yeah, my saw's so bad
It needs voltage regulation
Just welding here with argon inhalation
I can't bend the Steel
Without flame propagation
Three anouncers provide my degragation
Grinders alone Can't provide much excitation
This whole crazy event defy's an explanation
For those without a lot of imagination

And you tell me over and over an over again my friend
Ah, you don't believe we're on the Eve of Construction

When you think of all the tools they build in China
Then you scrounge around at rummage sales for the ultimate grinder
When you stand around and chat at the Nimby Space
Then you finnaly start to build at the Shipyard place
The beating of the hammers
At your Box Shop space
You can modify your motors but don't burn a trace
Mount your high speed router but don't for get your chain space

But you Tell Me Over and over and over again my friend
You don't believe were on the Eve of construction
No, no, you don't believe were on the Eve of construction

ok, well, not quite. that's likely in june. only a few months away. so consider getting ready to think about the plan for figuring out how to start your engines. racing is just around the corner.

in the meantime, we are going to have some tables at the fabulous upcoming Maker's Faire to display and pit race our Power Tool curiosities. no track. just static display. too many people for flying saws and fire extinguishers.

machines and makers are needed for display and talking at the event. thus we invite you to join us with your creations. any past (or future) racers interested in showing their machines and self are encouraged to write me and say as much. i'll add you to the list. as of today, it is just me. which is a little bit lonely. but surely there will be more soon. maybe we'll bring the edsel and display all machines across the hood, roof and trunk.

the event is the weekend of april 22/23 at the san mateo county fairgrounds. we are likely going to display in the larger arena of simone and dave's robogames area.
